Coral reef – last specimens series

Started in 2016 and developed over the course of residencies and exhibitions; the installation today takes the form of a large textile coral reef several meters across. Lace, wool and other textile fibers are patiently assembled with recycled materials; thus creating a reef in shades of beige and white. Coral bleaching – synonymous with their decline, near death – is a phenomenon which results from numerous human excesses, it is a warning cry from these animals. The artist transposes the urgency to act, various cultural action residencies have allowed citizens to get involved with the artist.
